The most festive New Year’s Eve I have experienced is the kind celebrated in Rome at the “Re degli amici”, the Italians always being ready for colourful parties. Enjoying the traditional midnight dish - zampone & lenticchie (stuffed pig’s trotter with lentils) - together with the Italians is the most optimistic way of entering the New Year. For it is said that the more lentils you eat, the richer you are going to become. |
